Voxio Translate Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Voxio Translate uses, where that information is processed, and the choices you can make when using translation features.

1. Information the App Uses

Voxio Translate provides text translation, voice translation, conversation translation, and photo translation. The App does not offer app accounts or registration forms. The content you choose to enter may include personal information, so please be mindful of what you submit for translation.

Text translation: When you confirm a translation, the source text and selected languages are sent via HTTPS to the Baidu General Text Translation API. This includes text you type, text recognized from photos, and speech recognition text you choose to translate.

Voice Translate: Depending on the language, device, and system capabilities, Apple performs speech recognition on your device or on Apple servers. After recording ends, you can review or edit the recognized text. The App sends this text to Baidu only when you tap “Translate”.

Conversation Mode: After you start a conversation and give the relevant consent, Apple performs speech recognition. After a pause of approximately one second, the recognized text is automatically sent to Baidu. The App then reads the translation aloud and resumes listening. This process continues until you stop the conversation. Raw audio is not sent to Baidu.

Photo translation: Apple's Vision framework recognizes text on your device. Voxio Translate does not upload original photos. You can review or edit the recognized text before submitting it for translation.

2. How Information Is Used and Stored

Translation content is used to generate the translations and spoken playback you request. Completed translations, including completed conversation turns, are saved in the App's local history. Voice translation records also include the recording duration when it is available. Items you mark as favorites are also stored locally. The App does not save original recordings or original photos as app files.

Language selections, consent choices, and other app preferences are stored on your device. The App includes a fixed Baidu service configuration to authenticate translation requests; you do not need to enter API credentials. Opening Settings, the About page, or this policy does not initiate a translation request.

Depending on your system settings, local history, favorites, and preferences may be included in device backups. Deleting the App removes its local data from that device, but may not remove backup copies or content you previously copied or shared. You can manage device backups in system settings.

3. Third-Party Processing and Sharing

Baidu receives translation text and the information needed to process and authenticate translation requests. Apple may receive audio when system speech recognition requires server processing. When you connect to these services, the service providers may also receive standard network information, such as your IP address. These providers' own policies govern their processing and retention of information.

Voxio Translate does not include advertising, advertising tracking tools, or app analytics SDKs. The App does not sell translation content or send it to advertising networks.

Copying places your selected text on the system clipboard. Sharing sends the selected content to the recipient or app you choose. These actions occur only when you actively choose them; subsequent processing of the information depends on the system, recipient, or destination app.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Voxio Translate does not use cookies to track you. Local preferences remember choices such as language and consent status and are not used as advertising identifiers. This policy is stored in the App and can be read without loading a website.

5. Permissions, Security, and Your Choices

The App requests camera, microphone, and speech recognition permissions when you use features that require them. Photo selection uses the system photo picker to access the images you select. You can manage camera, microphone, and speech recognition permissions in iOS Settings. Denying permission makes the corresponding features unavailable.

Translation requests are transmitted via HTTPS. These safeguards can reduce the risk of information exposure, but cannot guarantee that all devices, networks, or third-party services are always secure. Please avoid submitting content you do not want the relevant translation or speech service providers to process.

You can decide when to send manual translation requests, when to start or stop a conversation, and when to copy or share content. Stopping a conversation prevents further collection and automatic translation in that conversation, but cannot retract content already sent to service providers.

This policy may be revised when the App's features or data handling practices change. The revised policy and its update date will be provided on this page. You can consult this page to understand the data handling practices of the version you use.
